Two new Airbus Helicopters H175s entered service in Australia with PHI Aviation this week.
The two twin-engined long-range helciopters will be based at Broome in support of PHI's offshore energy transportation, SAR and medevac operations.
Two more are expected to join the fleet in the next few months.
“These state-of-the-art aircraft are a significant addition to our growing fleet in Australia," said Cory Latiolais, PHI Aviation Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific.
"They elevate our operational capabilities while reinforcing our commitment to sustainable innovation and delivering world-class service to our clients."
Powered by two 1776 shp Pratt & Whitney PT6C turbines, the H175 can carry up to 18 passengers, and has a range of over 600 nm and endurance of just over six hours.
“We are pleased to support our long-term customer PHI Aviation with delivery of the H175 helicopters for their current Australian fleet," said Christian Venzal, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Australia and New Zealand.
"The high performance of the H175 aircraft in the challenging Western Australian environment is an excellent addition for the PHI Aviation fleet, especially with their focus on search and rescue operations, and marine transfers."
The two H175s will complement PHI's multi-type fleet, which also includes H160, Sikorsky S92A, AW139, H145, Bell 412 and BK117 among others.
The company has bases in Broome, Darwin and Exmouth.
