Queensland's Ryan Aerospace delivered its 500th flight simulator to a customer last week, marking a significant milestone for a company that was a small start-up firm in 2005.

Ryan Aerospace develops and manufactures traditional and virtual reality simulators that have become popular with civil and military customers, most notably the US Army helicopter training centre at Fort Rucker, Alabama, the US Navy and US Air Force.

Simulators produced at the plant in Nerang, QLD, include a Bell 206, Helimod single-seat sim, Helicrew two-seat sim, Jetmod lead-in jet trainer, Robinson R22 and R44, as well as aircrew training platforms for emergency medical services.

Managing Director, Chris Ryan said he was thrilled to reach this milestone and very proud of his small but growing team operating out of its Gold Coast Facility in Australia.

“In the meantime, we’re straight back at it with another seventy or so simulators to go out the door in the next two
months," he added.

“We look forward to continuing the work we are doing with Prime working with Vertex Solutions (USA) and Precision Flight Controls (USA) who have been instrumental partners in many of these projects.”

Ryan Aerospace has placed products in Australia, Europe and the Middle East, with key customers and users including prime contractors such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky, BAE Systems, CAE, Airbus Helicopters, EDMS as well as regulatory authorities such as the FAA.
