Australian Aviation Hall of Fame (AAHOF) induction dinners will be held in March rather than their traditional October-November dates beginning from this year, AAHOF announced today.
The next induction will be held on 14 March 2026 to co-incide with the Airshows Downunder event at Shellharbour Airport in NSW, home of AAHOF.
"The AAHOF Board considers that aligning our Gala Induction Dinner with Airshows Downunder Shellharbour will maximise the opportunity for AAHOF members, sponsors, and stakeholders to attend the airshow and the dinner," said AAHOF Chair Greg Hood.
"Attendees at Airshows Downunder Shellharbour will experience the thrill of the flying displays, get up close and personal with historic, military, modern and aerobatic aircraft on the ground and have a great family day out with free carnival rides, market stalls and dining options."
Airshows Downunder is a biennial event run by AMDA Foundation on years when the Australian International Airshow is not held. AAHOF induction dinners planned for Avalon years will still be held at Shellharbour and scheduled to avoid clashing with Avalon.
AAHOF says it has already made its individual selections for the 2025 inductees, but currently has no nominations for the prestigious Southern Cross Award, which is presented to organisations that have made a significant contribution to aviation in Australia.
Induction announcements for 2025 are expected in July.
More information on AAHOF and the nomination process is on the AAHOF website.
