An extensive pavement upgrade program for Bankstown Airport will see disruption to taxiways and runways from July 2023.
According to airport lease-holder Aeria Management Group, the closures will "enhance the performance and reliability of the airfield."
The work will be done in nine stages and is expected to continue until April 2024.
Major resurfacing on taxiway Alpha will cause it to be closed for up to 10 weeks, during which time Runway 29R/11L will also be closed and put into service as a taxiway for the remaining runways.
Works will also result in the closures of taxiways Charlie, Lima, Mike and Papa for shorter durations from two nights to 10 days.
Aeria Management Group is holding two information sessions in the Bankstown terminal building on 21 June from 1100-1300 and again from 1600-1800 to provide aviation community stakeholders with a comprehensive overview of the pavement project and the opportunity to ask questions.
