Textron Aviation this week rolled-out the 400th Cessna Citation Latitude business jet at the company’s factory in Wichita, Kansas.

The mid-size jet can carry nine passengers and has a range of 2700 nm, making it one of the most delivered jets in its class.

"The Citation Latitude has redefined aircraft performance, efficiency and cabin experience,” said Todd McKee, Cessna senior vice president, Integrated Supply Chain.

“Thanks to the dedication and skill of our team, we are continuously innovating and enhancing the Citation jets’ design and manufacturing process, providing our customers with unmatched performance, productivity and profitability.

"With our sights set on the future, we are committed to ongoing investment in research and development to continue inspiring the journey of flight.”

The Latitude is operated on a wide range of missions, including corporate transport, charter, personal travel, aeromedical, utility transport, aerial survey, flight inspection and training.

Cessna announced the Citation Latitude in 2011, with the prototype flying in February 2014. Initially, the jet was to have a maximum range of 2000 nm, but customer feedback soon pushed that out to 2300 nm. In the end, testing revealed a range of 2700 nm.

Soon after certification in 2015, an example embarked on a sales tour of Australia. A Latitude was also the 7000th business jet to carry the Citation name.

The 400th Citation Latitude is expected to be completed and delivered later this year.
