Cirrus Aircraft last week celebrated the 10,000 SR series airframe by releasing a special limited edition livery to mark the occasion.
The SR series comprises the SR20, SR22 and the turbo-charged SR22T.
Serial number 10000 is an SR22T G7 adorned with a custom matte blue and white paint with forward-moving lines that carry from the front of the aircraft toward the tail interlacing a symbolic Roman numeral X.
"The SR Series has reached a monumental achievement with 10,000 deliveries and owners that live the Cirrus Life,” said Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer.
“From the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) to the Perspective Touch+ flight deck, Cirrus continuously innovates to provide owners with personal aircraft that set the industry standard for aviation safety, luxury, convenience and ease of ownership.
"We are honored to celebrate 10,000 SR Series aircraft deliveries with our team members, partners and stakeholders.”
First entering service in 1999, the SR Cirrus revolutionised general aviation with composite construction, side-stick controls and glass-cockpit options, all features that previously had been restricted to airliners and corporate jets.
The SR20 entered service in July 1999 with the SR22 following in 2001 and the SR22T ten years later. The series has been leading the single-engine high-performance category for 22 years, selling around 4-500 SR22/T and 100 SR20 airframes annually.
Earlier this year, Cirrus released the G7 version, which features Perspective Touch+ by Garmin avionics and several refinements throughout the aircraft and an all-new interior. The Perspective Touch+ flight deck features expanded systems integration, large widescreen displays and a touch-screen interface.
The 10,000th SR series, registered N10000 is currently on display at AirVenture at Oshkosh.
