Daher recently announced new upgrades for the Kodiak 900 and Kodiak Series III that increases the commonality with the company's other SETP, the TBM 960.
The enhancements, which include datalink and avionics upgrades, will apply to all new Kodiak aircraft that roll-out from the Sandpoint ID factory in 2025.
Daher Aircraft CEO Nicolas Chabbert detailed the changes during the Sun 'n' Fun aerospace expo in Florida last week.
“The Kodiak is benefitting once again from Daher Aircraft’s commitment to continual improvement across its product lines, reflecting advancements in technology and systems, as well as meeting the evolving operational requirements of our customers,” Chabbert said.
Among the new features added to the Kodiak range are:
- Garmin GDL 60 datalink and PlaneSync technology
- new external landing, taxi and navigation/strobe lights
- Garmin GWX 8000 StormOptix doppler weather radar
- all-digital GRA55 radar altimeter
- GTX345D diversity transponder with intuitive situational awareness tools.
Chabbert singled-out thePlaneSync technology, which he believes creates a new level of connectivity for the range.
“With PlaneSync, the Kodiak 900 and Kodiak 100 Series III fleets now have a single advanced connectivity solution, which is harmonized as well with the TBM 960 – thereby empowering pilots with smarter, simpler, and more efficient operations,” he said.
French manufacturer Daher acquired the Kodiak design in 2019 when it bought Quest Aircraft. Since then the company has invested millions of dollars in the Sandpoint factory and in developing and marketing the Kodiak STOL platform.
Chabbert predicted the company will roll-out 30 Kodiak airframes in 2025, which is a 15% increase in deliveries over the last calendar year.
