Local electric aircraft promoter FlyOnE last week announced it had established a Gold-level partnership with an advanced air mobility (AAM) research group.
FlyOnE's partnership is with AAM Cooperative Research Centre (AAM CRC), an organisation dedicated to developing all aspects of sustainable AAM in Australia.
In announcing the partnership, FlyOnE's Korum Ellis said the collaboration was expected to result in a sustainable aviation industry in Australia.
"We are thrilled to align with the Advanced Air Mobility CRC to advance the development of electric air transport in Australia," he said.
"This collaboration will not only benefit the aviation industry, lower air transport costs and raise customer experience for the average Australian, but also contribute to a greener and more sustainable future for our country."
The Gold-level partnership requires a $200,000 per-year contribution to AAM CRC, but gets FlyOnE membership in the company.
FlyOnE will join other industry partners such as Dovetail Electric Aviation, Quickstep and Thales.
AAMCRC is a Melbourne-based organisation that brings together developers and researchers of all aspects of AAM, from the aircraft to vertiports, airports, airlines, regulators and any other AAM stakeholders.
Research partners include Swinburne, RMIT, QUT, University of Sydney, Charles Darwin University, Western Sydney University and Wichita State University's National Institute of Aviation Research.
"The size and quality of the AAM CRC bid reflects the need for and opportunities within a dedicated cooperative research center for the aviation and aerospace sector," said Dr Adriano Di Pietro, Interim CEO, Advanced Air Mobility CRC.
"A high level of collaboration is required to address the unique and varied challenges of our industry, and we believe that the AAM CRC will face these challenges head-on.”
FlyOnE is a local Pipistrel agent which has placed several electric aircraft with flying schools in Australia.
