Air Race World Championship has removed the opening round at Goodwood UK from the 2022 calendar because of unspecified logistical difficulties.
Goodwood was to have kicked off the season on 9-10 July, but has been struck from the series, meaning the first scheduled event will now not happen until the Malaysian round on 10-11 September.
"It is with a heavy heart that we have had to make the difficult decision not to race at Goodwood in July 2022," the ARWC announcement states.
"There are a number of factors that have contributed to this, including significant logistics challenges that have arisen and subsequent reduced working timeframe in the lead up to the event.
"Whilst it’s a disappointing loss for the 2022 race calendar, we very much hope Goodwood Estate will feature as a race venue in 2023."
That leaves only three confirmed rounds for the 2022 season: Malaysia, Jakarta on 15-16 October and Lake Macquarie on 19-20 November.
One more race has been scheduled for December, but no host city has yet been announced.
