Former CASA and Airservices Executive Greg Hood will take over as the new Chief Commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Board (ATSB).

Hood has more than 30 years experience in the aviation industry, trained as an Air Traffic Controller with the Royal Australian Air Force before joining the Civil Aviation Authority and subsequently Airservices Australia. He moved to CASA in 2007 and rose to Executive Manager Operations before returning to Airservices in 2013.

He is also a Board member of SafeSkies Australia, and a member of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation’s (CANSO) Operations Standing Committee.

Hood  will start on 1 July, replacing Martin Dolan, whose contract expires on 30 June.
