The Australian Helicopter Industry Association (AHIA) last week appointed Paul Tyrrell as its new Chief Executive Officer.
According to AHIA, Tyrrell's appointment will enable the association to progress to the next level in its development as a pro-active group within the Australian aviation industry.
“We welcome Paul to the AHIA," said AHIA President Peter Crook, "and look forward to the continued growth of our association for the benefit of the helicopter industry.”
Tyrrell comes to AHIA with years of experience as a manager of companies and associations. He was previously the CEO of the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA), was involved with and has an in-depth knowledge of government procedures and protocols and is highly regarded in the upper levels of government and CASA.
Tyrrell, along with current ATSB commissioner Chris Manning, is also credited with developing the concept of the Australian Aviation Hall of Fame.
