Piper Aircraft will tour its M600 single-engined turbo-prop around Australia as part of a five-country Pacific Rim tour.

The aircraft is due at Australian distributor Airflite in Perth on 28 February, after which it will visit the major cities and some regional areas of the south-east coast.

Exact dates and locations are yet to be announced, but it is known the tour will include:

  • Perth
  • Bunbury
  • Adelaide
  • Mount Gambier
  • Melbourne (Essendon)
  • Albion Park
  • Sydney
  • Brisbane

The M600 seats six and is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A 600-shp engine. The aircraft has a maximum cruise speed of 274 KTAS, a max range of 1484 nm and a standard useful load of over 1000 kg. The avionics package is a Garmin G3000 touch-screen glass flight deck.

After certification in December 2016, the M600 has been one of the models that has underpinned strong sales growth for Piper. Year-to-date figures for the third quarter of 2017 showed 23 M600s delivered to customers, second only to the 45 shipments of the Archer III, which had enjoyed fleet sales to flying academies.

Aiflite expects to firm up the tour schedules dates, times and locations in the coming weeks.
