Airservices Australia's fire fighters will be raising money to support young people living with cancer when they get behind National Bandanna Day tomorrow.

National Bandanna Day is CanTeen’s biggest annual fundraiser with a goal to sell one million bandannas.

This year Airservices staff in Broome, Canberra, Karratha, Launceston, Perth and Sydney will be doing their part to help CanTeen reach this target.

Airservices Executive General Manager Government and Industry Affairs, Unni Menon, said that CanTeen is one of Airservices three staff-nominated charities.

“National Bandanna Day is a great opportunity for everyone in the community to show their support for young people living with cancer,” he said.

“Airservices matches all confirmed donations raised by our staff dollar-for-dollar and I encourage everyone to support National Bandanna Day.”

In Sydney and Perth, aviation fire fighters will drive MK8 fire tenders to the cities to sell bandannas.

Fireies in Broome, Karratha and Launceston will sell the bandannas at their airports with Airservices staff in Canberra selling from head office.

“In 2011 Airservices matched the $18,000 raised for CanTeen by employees," Menon said. "I hope we can better that figure this year."
