Epic Aircraft has begun to accept slot reservations for its E1000 single-engine turbo-prop (SETP).

The E1000 is a low-wing six-seater powered by the P&W PT6-67A 1200 SHP motor that is expected to give a top speed of 325 KTAS and an authorised ceiling of FL340.

Intended to be a luxury corporate transport to compete with the TBM 850/900 and the Piper Meridian, the E1000 has been on the path to full FAA certification since 2012, when the company was taken over by Russian MRO company Engineering LLC.

Epic Aircraft began developing the Epic LT kit SETP in 2004 and later started work on a range of Very Light Jets (VLJ) that never made it to market.

The last LT kits will be delivered to customers this year, with certification for the E1000 expected in mid 2015.

More information on the E1000 is available on the Epic Aircraft website.
