Bears in the air! This video shows the Tupolev Tu95 "Bear" out to play. This aeroplane is powered by four Kuznetzov 14,800 SHP turbo-props swinging eight-blade contra-rotating props. They break 500 knots in the cruise but won't climb to more than 45,000 feet. The Russians started flying them in 1956 and expect them to stay in service until 2040.
