A great idea or too far ahead of its time? From the creative mind of Burt Rutan came the Beech Starship, a twin turbo-prop commuter aircraft that featured pusher props, a Delta wing and canards. Futuristic when it was certified in the late 1980s, but discontinued in 1995, the Starship may simply have been a victim of the success of the aircraft it was meant to replace: the King Air. Today only a handful of the 53 Starships built are still airworthy.
