Something quietly nostalgic this week. This video is 8 mm home footage shot around Essendon Airport in the 1960s. It shows the departure and arrival of DC-3s, and a helicopter that I'm sure the readership can identify for me. The "old" tower at Essendon was only a few years young back then. Now there is talk about getting a new one.
