An enthralling video preview of the Reno Air Race 2011 - the fastest race on earth - which is currently in full swing with three Aussie pilots in the mix.

This video features numerous sexy and speedy aircraft that are competing in both the Jet and Unlimited categories at this year's Reno Air Race in Nevada, which kicked off on September 14 and runs until September 18.

As reported in the September/October 2011 print issue of Australian Flying, three Aussie pilots have qualified to compete in the Jet Class of this year's race. Maitland's Mary Pracy in an Aero L-39; the Gold Coast's John Kokshoorn in an Aero L-29 Delfin; and Armidale's Lachie Onslow in a PZL TS-11 Iskra are battling it out with the best pilots in the world for top honours.

Honestly, is this not the coolest thing a civilian pilot can do with himself? We're in awe, and insanely jealous... .
