Warbird and antique aircraft fanatics will be familiar with the name Walter Soplata. Until he died a few years ago, Walt traveled the breadth of the USA collecting abandoned aircraft relics to save them from the smelters. His collection in the back yard of his Ohio house grew to legendary proportions. He even had the fuselage of a B-36 Peacemaker 10-engined bomber! This video contains a mix of footage and stills shot before Walt died, and remains a unique insight to a lifetime of preserving aviation history.
