Piper Aircraft Inc. has announced a new purchasing upgrade scheme that it hopes will heighten sales of its forthcoming PiperJet Altaire.
Aiming to entice Piper loyalists to upgrade to their new light jet, the manufacturer’s Altaire Advance program offers discounts for the PiperJet Altaire to anyone who purchases a new aircraft from its M-Class range. The Piper M-Class lineup includes the single engine turboprop Meridian, the pressurised single-engine piston Mirage and the unpressurised single-engine piston Matrix.

“Piper created the Altaire Advance program to make it easier for our customers to move up to the PiperJet Altaire from any new single engine M-Class aircraft,” Piper Executive Vice President Randy Groom says.
“Under Altaire Advance, Piper will discount the purchase price of the Altaire or defer a portion of the initial deposit required, depending on the new M-Class airplane being purchased.”
Piper is offering customers purchasing a new Meridian US$100,000 off the US$2.5 million base purchase price of the PiperJet Altaire; while customers purchasing a new Mirage are being offered US$50,000 off the price of a new PiperJet Altaire.
And customers who purchase a new Matrix can choose to defer US$25,000 of the initial deposit of US$75,000 on a new PiperJet Altaire.

Piper will escrow the initial deposit until first flight. Subsequent deposits are tied to first flight of the PiperJet Altaire conforming flight test article and nine months prior to first delivery or type certification
Piper is aiming to certify the PiperJet Altaire in 2014 and begin first deliveries later that year. To read more about the recent major changes to Piper's entry level just click here.
