Regional Aviation Association of Australia scholarships close mid-July
The Regional Aviation Association of Australia has issued a reminder that the closing date for applications for this year's scholarships is July 15.
The RAAA offers two categories of scholarships: Pilot and Aircraft Engineer. The association says the scholarships have been established because the costs associated with entering the aviation industry and maintaining skills once qualified can be a burden to current and potential future pilots and technical trainees.
“To emphasise the importance of new people entering the regional aviation industry and the continued education of current people, we have arranged partnerships with member organisations to award scholarships to individuals meeting the criteria to assist them completing their studies or that advance current participants in regional aviation skills,” the RAAA says on its website.
The RAAA Scholarships available this year are:
* Ansett Aviation Training Pilot Scholarship: Two scholarships will be awarded as encouragement to the continuing education of promising pilots. The scholarship winners will together undergo a complete endorsement in Melbourne Australia on either the Beechcraft Super Kingair B200 or Fairchild Metroliner III/23 aircraft types. * Jeppesen Pilot Scholarship: One scholarship will be awarded of $5000, and is intended as an encouragement to the continuing education of a promising pilot. Please see the application form for further details.
* Jeppesen Avionics Scholarship: One scholarship will be awarded of $5000, and is intended as an encouragement to the continuing education of promising young Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics) Engineer. Please see the application form for further details.
* Lufthansa Technik Aero Alzey Powerplant Maintenance + Overhaul Scholarship (New): One scholarship will be awarded as encouragement to the continuing education of a current Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/Technician or promising final year apprentice. Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey will provide the scholarship winner 14 days of either CF34 or PW100 engine orientation training in Germany. Please see the application form for further details.
* Michelin Airframe Scholarship: One scholarship will be awarded of $5000, and is intended as an encouragement to the continuing education of promising young Aircraft Maintenance (Airframe) Engineer. Please see the application form for further details.
