One hundred years later to the very minute! Adventurer Michael Smith took over four months to get approval to land on the Swan River in Perth, but he did it on 11 May 2024 at 4:15 pm, replicating the centenary of when RAAF pilots Goble and McIntyre landed in the same spot on 11 May 1924 at 4:15 pm. This was one of many highlights Smith encountered on his centenary re-enactment circumnavigation of Australia. Nice.
