This is a video showing a pilot doing exactly the right thing: going around. Apollo Bay near Cape Otway in Victoria's west would probably be voted the trickiest airport to land at in the state. However, most pilots in anything but the most unfavourable conditions would land on runway 27. This pilot tries a 09 landing, which is subject to illusions caused by high ground in the undershoot, a runway sloping downward away from you and a narrow sealed strip. The pilot finds themselves too high not once, but twice, and displays good airmanship by hitting the throttle and going around. We'll always applaud that more than trying to make a good landing from a bad situation.
