AusFly organisers have released a final version of the public flying display to be held at Narromine on Saturday 17 September and an amended seminar program.
Headlined by Matt Hall and Emma McDonald, the program features aerobatic displays of both single aircraft and teams, including returning Ausfly staples The Stooges and their RV sequences and Jock Folan in Australia's only airworthy aerobatic Bonanza.
Scheduled for the Saturday afternoon, the display is part of the larger AusFly national fly-in staged by the Australian General Aviation Alliance (AGAA).
"AusFly is a relaxed, traditional Aussie fly-in event where aircraft owners, pilots, builders, industry supporters and enthusiasts come along and soak up the true spirit of Australian general aviation," Ausfly organisers said in a media release yesterday.
"AusFly is a non-commercial event, focussed on all aviation supporters, wherever you come from, to get together and have a tonne of fun. There will be aircraft static and flying displays, educational and industry exhibitors.
"This is the opportunity to get up and close with aircraft, discover an amazing part of Australian aviation history at the Narromine Aviation Museum, and simply catch up with fellow aviators and like-minded people."
The seminar program kicks off on the Friday and runs through to midday on the Saturday, featuring workshops from members of the Sport Aircraft Assocation of Australia (SAAA), Garmin, AvPlan, OzRunways and UPRT Australia.
Headlining the roster is an industry update from CASA Branch Manager Safety, Risk and Intelligence Mark Sullivan outlining the status of key initiatives, and a panel discussion hosted by the SAAA and AOPA Australia.
One of the key features of the weekend is the SAAA's Youth Build Program, which includes a student-built RV12. The program involved five schools and over 80 students constructing components of the aircraft. Now completed, the aeroplane will be on display at AusFly.
The build is part of a program to encourage youth to explore their options in the aviation community. The SAAA will conduct a supporting series of seminars aimed at younger people at AusFly, including talks from RFDS pilot Ashley Myles, SAAA members on engineering and Matt Hall, who will outline his career flying for the RAAF.
More information on the flying displays and the seminar program as well as a pilot guide to flying in are available from the AusFly website.
