Australian Flying has been recognised by the Australasian Aviation Press Club (AAPC) with one award and a runner-up going to editor Steve Hitchen.
AAPC judges selected the May-June 2023 feature "Building SouthPAN" as the Rolls Royce Best Technical Story, and also awarded Hitchen a Runner-up in the Singapore Airlines Best Photographer category.
The Australian's Robyn Ironside took out the prestigious Airservices Australia Aviation Journalist of the Year.
The AAPC awards, which were placed in abeyance in 2020, returned this year, attracting 153 nominations over nine categories. Included for the first time was the AirlineRatings.com Decade of Excellence category, which recognised journalists for a complete body of work that spanned 10 years.
