Piper announced last week that the Civil Aviation Safety Authority had approved a type certificate for the M700 Fury single-engine turbo-prop (SETP).
Certification included flight into known icing (FIKI) and operations from unimproved runways.
CASA approval coincided with similar certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Brazilian authority ANAC.
"The EASA, ANAC, and CASA certifications are significant milestones for the M700 FURY," said John Calcagno, President and CEO of Piper Aircraft. "These approvals reinforce our commitment to delivering a world-class aircraft with exceptional performance, safety, and versatility to key international markets."
The M700 FURY is the fastest single-engine aircraft Piper has ever developed. It offers a maximum cruise speed of 301 KTAS and a range of 1424 nm. Powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-52 engine, the Fury includes the HALO safety system with Garmin Autoland.
Introduced to the aviation world in early February, the M700 is a development of the Piper PA46 M600/SLS with greater performance and capability.
