Diamond Aircraft has beefed-up its presence in the surveillance market by introducing the DA62MPP, a multi purpose version of its large DA62 twin diesel.

The DA62 MPP features the latest in tracking and sensor technology and is designed for law enforcement operations, search and rescue missions, land and sea border surveillance, disaster management, infrastructure and environmental monitoring, airport landing systems calibration and operations requiring similar technology.

Diamond has already delivered over 100 DA42MPP aircraft to both commercial operators and government agencies around the world, and the company is hoping for similar success for the larger DA62 version.

"We are very pleased to expand our offering by introducing the next largest Diamond Surveillance Aircraft," said Markus Fischer, Diamond Sales Director Special Mission Aircraft.

"In addition to the unique and outstanding features of the basic DA62, that include state-of-the-art Garmin G1000 NXi avionics suite with fully integrated 3-axis automatic flight control system with flight director and yaw damper, heavy fuel capability due to proprietary turbocharged Austro jet fuel piston engines and advanced composite airframe technology, it is the cabin volume and payload capability of the DA62 MPP that will open new markets for Diamond surveillance aircraft."

Diamond believes that the DA62 can challenge the heavier and more expensive turbo-prop aircraft currently on surveillance operations around the world.
