CASA has scheduled more performance-based navigation (PBN) training seminars for 2014.
PBN is new navigation rules due to be implemented in Australia over the coming years that will save time and money by making flight paths more efficient and enabling the protected airspace around the aircraft to shrink.
In addition, all IFR aircraft in Australia will eventually need GNSS (GPS) and ADS-B avionics.
According to CASA "These face-to-face briefings will give aircraft operators, pilots, manufacturers and maintenance organisations an overview of the regulations (CAO 20.91 and CAO 20.18), the concept of PBN, GNSS and ADS-B equipment requirements, upcoming deadlines and the impact on airspace/route design."
The seminar program as it stands at the moment is:
11 Feb - Mecure Sydney International Airport
17 Feb - Traders Hotel Brisbane
28 Feb - Oaks Plaza Pier Hotel Adelaide
11 Mar - Parkroyal Melbourne Airport
More information and registration details are on the CASA website.
