Cirrus Aircraft has started work on a new facility at Knoxville, Tennessee, which will serve as the delivery, customer service and training base for all Cirrus aeroplanes.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the Cirrus Vision Center last Thursday marked the beginning of construction that is expected to be finished in the second half of 2016.

Koxville will be the primary location for all Cirrus Aircraft pilot, owner and customer activities including training, service, support, sales, marketing, delivery, personalization and fixed base operations. Manufacturing will remain at Duluth and Grand Forks.

"Our mission to deliver an aviation experience that is the pinnacle of innovation, quality and safety is taking a giant leap forward with our expansion here in Tennessee,” said CEO Dale Klapmeier.

“Cirrus Aircraft’s story is one of growth and expansion – first to Duluth, Minnesota then Grand Forks, North Dakota and now Knoxville, Tennessee. The Vision Center embodies our mission to deliver a world class aviation experience.”

The Vision Center will encompass all Cirrus aircraft, products and services including both the SR series of aircraft and the Vision SF50 single-engine personal jet.

Cirrus expects the Factory Service Center operations to start early next year with the other customer activities to commence before the end of 2016.
