Slovenian aircraft manufacturer Pipistrel Aircraft has successfully tested their first general aviation aircraft, the four-seat Panthera.
The aircraft was first flown on April 7 from the company's home base of Adjovscina in Slovenia.
Pipistrel CEO Ivo Boscarol said the test showed that the company can build GA planes to match the world's best.
"This is Pipistrel's first entry into the world of general aviation," he said.
"We knew for a long time that we were capable of developing and producing aircraft larger and more capable than ultralights/LSAs. Panthera is proof that Pipistrel's team can indeed compete with the most eminent global general aviation producers.
"Also, Panthera is Slovenia's first ever four-seat aeroplane design headed for production."
The Panthera is a low-wing retractable capable of carrying four people for 1000 nm at a speed projected to be 200 knots. Construction is largely composite with a titanium undercarriage.
Customers will be able to specify conventional power, a hybrid of conventional power and electricity, or all electric. The prototype, which did its first engine runs on March 29, is powered by a 210 HP Lycoming.
