Melbourne-based Swish Projects has signed an agreement to become the exclusive supplier and support agency for Hirth engines in Australasia.

Hirth, a German company, specialises in manufacturing lightweight, high-performance two-stroke engines for ultralight aircraft and uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAV).

Engines such as the F-23 (50 hp) and F-32 (65 hp) are designed to have good power-to-weight ratios and reliability, providing a reliable option for ultralight aviation. Hirth also provides "bolt-on" options for owners using the defunct Rotax 503 and 582 engines.

"We are thrilled to partner with Hirth Aircraft Engines," said James Fisher, Director of Swish Projects. "This collaboration has been years in development and fills a huge capability gap in the Australasian market.

"This new offering aligns with our commitment to offering the best quality and value products in every market segment and support to our customers.

"We look forward to a successful partnership that will enhance the affordable and reliable aviation experience for pilots across Australia and New Zealand."

The collaboration with Hirth means Swish will provide local support and maintenance services, access to engines and spares, as well as customer service and technical support.

Swish Projects also distributes the Viking series of engines for experimental aircraft, from the 90-hp up to the Viking turbo-charged 195-hp engine.

More information on Hirth engines is on the Swish projects website.
