Breaking Glass is a short vignette-style video that recounts part of the journey of Turi Widerøe, the first woman to be employed by a major airline in the western world. A Norwegian who was born into an aviation dynasty, Turi broke the glass ceiling in 1968 when Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) took on board as a co-pilot on Convair 440s. There is one thing, though. Turi's father was Viggo Widerøe, who founded Widerøe, what is today the largest regional airline in the Nordic countries. This video has ignored that, probably to increase the sense of self-achievement. Poignant, inspiring and beautifully shot, Breaking Glass shows what can be achieved when you let your passion run free. It's also a promo for SAS, but let's forget that bit.
